FEMME MAG Community Event: Our First Supper Club!

What do you get when you gather 14 womxn for an evening of good food, delicious cocktails and great conversations? You get the FEMME MAG Supper Club that’s what! On the 22nd of November, the FEMME MAG team and 9 members from our community got together for a meal at The House Lagos for our first Supper Club event.

‘But why a Supper Club event?’, I hear your inquisitive mind ask. For us, great conversations need three things: a comfortable environment, good food and great drinks. Our Supper Club events are where those three things intersect and we want to provide the chance for us to connect and meet different womxn. I know we mention the importance of community every chance we get, but it’s incredibly important for us. Without getting too mushy, FEMME MAG is the community and we won’t be where we are today without you guys. This is our way of making sure that we’re fostering those safe spaces and strengthening those ties with our community.

At 6 pm (not sharp, because… Nigerians) Our guests were treated to a 3-course meal, speciality named cocktails from Absolut (the ‘La Femme’ was a hit) and a great music playlist that featured hits from amazing womxn like Tems, Amaarae and Bucie. The evening progressed nicely and got pretty deep with our ’50 questions with FEMME MAG’ question deck which had questions like ‘ What’s a reoccurring lie you tell yourself? What’s the counter truth’. When we all successfully avoided several existential crisis, we turned up the music and danced until we couldn’t feel our feet. It was a beautiful night of connection, conversation and community. Here are some pictures from the event below:
